The Phi Phi Tour is the most popular in Thailand, originally made famous by the blockbuster movie “The Beach”. The story was about a young traveler and his friends discovering the most beautiful paradise, a place that most would think is something you could only dream of. Remember this?
Phi Phi Island really has to be seen to be believed, it is as beautiful as the movie portrays and even more beautiful when you see it with your eyes! Imagine crystal clear Emerald sparkling waters, with superb visibility! The pristine white sands on the sea bed reflect the blazing sunshine back to light up the water in a perfect example of paradise on earth.
The Phi Phi Island Tour leaves from Phuket in an hour long journey by speedboat. Your first arrival is at the 2nd largest Island in the Phi Phi archipelago, Phi Phi Leh Island. Phi Phi Leh is an uninhabited island sitting 1.5 km south of Phi Phi mainland also known as Phi Phi Don.
Phi Phi Leh has two bays, the famous Maya Bay used in “The Beach” and Loh Samah. These bays are surrounded by almost 300 meter high limestone walls, covered in lush foliage, harboring Phi Phi Lehshallow crystal clear waters that are teeming with sea life. On entering you could be mistaken for feeling like you’ve suddenly entered the set of a movie as it’s so beautiful and awe inspiring that it’s almost unreal! Enjoy some time here snorkeling perhaps a walk on the beach, take in the moments before setting off on your next adventure of the day! The boat will take you all around Phi Phi Leh to explore its bays and finishes up with the Viking Caves on your way to Phi Phi Don main-land.
They get there name because of the mysterious paintings on the walls that resemble the Viking Sailboats… These days the caves are over run with birds that create a special kind of nest that sells for a small fortune in Hong Kong and China. The tour will take you close enough to get a look but the caves are now protected against visitors.
As you get to Phi Phi Don, the main island of the trip you first approach a small beach that is full of wild monkeys. The monkeys are very used to human visitors and will regularly jump on boats and say hello (**Disclaimer – in monkey language).
At around 11.30 am you will come into Ton Sai Bay on Phi Phi Don for lunch. Lunch will be a buffet style with a choice of different Thai dishes to suit westerners so nothing too spicy!
To finish off the day you will be whisked away to Khai Island which is somewhere between Phi Phi and Phuket. Kai Island translates to Egg Island and that is eggsactly what it looks like! An egg Khai Islandshaped island surrounded by beautiful waters! So spend an hour relaxing on the white sands, snorkeling with the fishes or just enjoying a cocktail at the island bar while relaxing under a sun lounger, this is a perfect way to end your Phi Phi Island Trip.
